One of the best things to come out of E3 this year was the news that a remastered GTA V was arriving on PC later this year.
Rockstar Games stated that the release date was simply “Fall 2014” and did not get more specific.
Fall is a long time. Technically speaking, it’s the three months between September 21 and December 21. We could either have it in time for the back to school season, or get it just before Christmas.
Well, according to a recent leak, we’ll get GTA V for PC on November 14, 2014.
That leak comes from a Danish retailer which accidentally revealed the shipping date for Rockstar Games’ flagship title.
PC Gamer was able to capture a picture of the original listing on the Danish website:
gta 5
Obviously, that release date is nowhere near official. Rockstar Games hasn’t commented on the leak and I doubt it ever will.
The original game listing is still up, although the release date has been changed to December 31, 2014, which sounds like a default placeholder date. Maybe CoolGames.uk has insider knowledge from Rockstar Games, or maybe they just randomly chose a Friday in November.
The only thing that makes this date somewhat believable is that:
-It’s in fall 2014, which is the scheduled release period for GTA V
-It’s a Friday, which is the day on which games typically release in Europe
Of course, the day GTA V is scheduled to release in Denmark could be totally different from the day it releases in North America. North America seems to get game releases earlier in the week – like on Mondays, Tuesdays, or Wednesdays.
In other words, I’m predicting that Grand Theft Auto V will be released for PC on Tuesday, November 11, 2014. We’ll see if I’m right (I probably won’t be).
