Windows 8.1 adds a bunch of new useful features to Windows 8. One small change is the ability to delete – or at least disable – the Recycle Bin.
Keep in mind that disabling the Recycle Bin is not a really good idea. The Recycle Bin is a failsafe device that prevents you from accidentally deleting things you need. If you put something in the Recycle Bin, it doesn’t get officially deleted until you empty the Recycle Bin.
But if you really want to delete this lifeline, then you can easily do so by following the steps listed below.
Step 1) Right-click on the Recycle Bin
Step 2) Click Properties
Step 3) Click the radial button beside Don’t move files to the Recycle Bin…
Step 4) If you really want to be a daredevil, you can also check the Display delete confirmation dialog box
Step 5) This only removes the functionality of your Recycle Bin and does not actually remove it from your screen. To remove the Recycle Bin from your desktop, right-click anywhere on your screen and click Personalize. Then click Change desktop icons. From this menu, you can customize the exact icons which pop up on your desktop screen, including My Computer, user’s files, control panel, and, most importantly for this tutorial, Recycle Bin.

Remember: the Recycle Bin is unlike any other desktop icon. You can’t simply delete it with a keystroke. By following the steps listed above, you can delete the Recycle Bin from your desktop and remove its functionality.
In most cases, this tutorial will be useful for turning the Recycle Bin back on after you accidentally disable it. Some people like to play pranks on their friends, for example, where they delete the Recycle Bin. If you have friends like that, then the tutorial above can prevent you from accidentally deleting your life’s work with a single missed keystroke.
