What is Fidonav.com? And how does it function?

Fidonav.com is presented as a “top-notch” search tool that supposedly enhances users’ web browsing experience through generating improved search results as well as providing quick links to several popular websites like Facebook, eBay, YouTube, and more. At a first glance, one would think that Fidonav.com is a legitimate website as it has a decent interface. Even so, looks can definitely be deceiving and this certainly applies to Fidonav.com as it is actually a browser hijacker that hijacks browsers without a user’s consent.
Once it infiltrates your computer, it immediately changes your browser’s settings such as your default home page and search provider to Fidonav.com. This is a common trait for browser hijackers as they force users to use their search tool for their own gain. And unlike what it’s claiming, Fidonav.com does not really produce any improved search results – in fact the only thing it seems to be good at producing are countless of ads that are injected in the search results which leaves users confused as to what link is related to their search queries. As a matter of fact, some of the links it includes in the search results can lead you to some highly suspicious website that may contain harmful computer infection.
In addition, this browser hijacker can also track all your browsing activities so that it can collect your personal information. Whether you’re particular with your privacy or not, this trait should alarm your warning bells as it definitely poses a threat to your privacy. Not to mention that the data gathered is shared with its affiliated third party advertising partners. Its goal is to generate more customized and personalized ads to increase its revenue from pay-per-click marketing. So if you want to keep your information safe, removing Fidonav.com from your computer would be a wise thing to do.
How does Fidonav.com spread online?
