Most PC users would appreciate having more storage space. Unfortunately, external hard drives can be bulky and expensive, and if you’re used to carrying your slim laptop around, an external hard drive might take up more space than it’s worth.
That’s why Toshiba has released something called the Canvio Slim. Priced at $115, the Canvio Slim holds 500GB worth of data while being no larger than an index card. The Canvio Slim is a mere 4.2 by 2.9 inches and it is approximately one quarter-inch thick. Because of these dimensions, the Canvio Slim claims to be the “world’s thinnest external hard drive.”

The hard drive simply plugs into a USB 2.0 or USB 3.0 slot on your computer. No external power connection is required, and it’s easy to slip the hard drive into a laptop carrying case or even a pocket.
Toshiba is advertising the hard drive as a perfect complement to an Ultrabook. However, the hard drive works on any computer with a USB port, including Macs.
Check out the slim and fast hard drive on the official Toshiba website.
